Karasenth Bracers

Weight is negligible
Confers abilities as specialty priest of a deity
Determines direction and depth of magic items (w/in 10")

Karasenth was the Karatikan word for ‘key’. The bracers served as keys to unlock the deitific vaults and caches left over from the Storm Wars on Gaeleth. Since the caches were to be guarded at all costs, a number of safety measures were built into the bracers, to prevent the full extent of their powers from being used, without the express permission of the gods.

The bracers alone are capable of opening any deitifically sealed lock. After a secondary piece has been added to the bracers (a ‘key to the key’ as it were), the bracers gain the ability to determine direction and depth of magic items within 10”, including deitifically hidden or concealed vaults and caches. If the priest spell bless/curse (Tome of Magic) is cast on the bracers, once the secondary piece has been added, then the wearer gains the abilities of a specialty priest of the bracers’ deity. If the wearer is already a specialty priest of that deity, then he gains increased abilities.

Different bracers operate differently, depending on the constructing deity. Some cannot be removed until death, and others can be removed only by those of Chaotic Neutral alignment, or by a priest of that deity -- it varies considerably from set to set.
