20JUL2008
  • Changed network providers, from NetWork Solutions, to GoDaddy. I have issues with Network Solutions aggressive marketing strategies, which amount to little more than spam and threats to the unitiated. The change will incidentally allow a switch a Linux-based platform, and a PHP-based forum. Todd Antill has agreed to help me with the change-overs. And all of this is in preparation for the upcoming continuation of Campaign VIII, Freedom. Just a few more weeks, and I'll have players, again, to help force updates to the site.
15MAR2008
  • Added a new population segment of Rakore, known as the Dog Men of the bottomlands. Concept inspired by Richard Donovan's Paddling the Wild Neches.
  • Posted Harry McKenzie's tale of the Lady Cleo's Creation, from the forums.
  • Posted another tale from the forum's, Sacrificial Bears.
21JAN2008
  • I went through and partially editted some write-ups Brandy McPherson had given me for her X Campaign III. This should catch her group up to recap number 14 or so.
08JAN2008 01JAN2008
  • Posted the stats for Caleb Johansen, Brandy's latest player -- a mage in a land firmly under the grips of the Inquisition! Good luck, Caleb! And Happy New Year! Whee!
29DEC2007
  • Posted yet *another* session of X Campaign III. (grumble, grumble) Wish *I* had the kind of time to play in a campaign every day! (raspberries)
28DEC2007
  • Did some editting for Brandy (and almost called down the Wrath of the Gods upon one of her PCs for name-hacking). Posted the character data for most of her PCs in X Campaign III, as well as her latest recaps. I'm sure her PCs are wondering why their military ranks were cut out of their names; it's because ranks are nice, but names are nicer. So sayeth the ex-Staff Sergeant and annoying editor. (gives Brandy a side kick to the boot, as if to say, 'DMing is a lot of work, isn't it?')
21DEC2007 20DEC2007 16DEC2007
  • Posted Brandy McPherson's tale, Out of the Darkness, about a Shadow Guardian that rises from the ashes into a new war.
14DEC2007
  • Posted Brandy McPherson's X Campaign III, her first time as a Dungeon Master, and her first recap. Looks like she's got an interesting bunch o nuts. S'gonna be interesting to see what all she comes up with.
  • Finished the design schematics for the Copper Kraken -- a gnomish-inspired submersible featured in Harry McKenzie's story The Fire Down Below.
10DEC2007
  • Took Harry McKenzie's work "Nipping at Their Heels" from the forum section, translated it to HTML, and posted it in the Fiction section of Gaeleth. Good job, Harry.
06NOV2007
  • Switched from imHosted to Network Solutions for hosting. I already regret the mistake. Network Solutions wanted *extra* money for a standar package that other Windows-based servers offer -- just to host a unix-based package. This made the old unix-based forum inoperable unless I was willing to fork over even more money than I already had. Soon as this contract with Network Solutions is up, I'm running back to imHosted. I'm sure my ex-players that used the old forum will kill me.
  • Added Charles Grennel / Jill Edwards letter, The Sheep Allegory, to my MilFile page.
19SEP2007
  • Posted some new pics, this time of my Environmental Geology field trip out to Holly Beach, to survey the damage from both Hurricanes Rita and Humberto.
11SEP2007
  • Translated several items from the forums to the items of Gaeleth section, among them my own Tending Stones and Brandy McPherson's Sun Rings.
08SEP2007
  • Translated several stories from the forums to the fiction section of Gaeleth, among them my own The Unmanned Table and Dreaded Knights, and Harry McKenzie's Mirror, Mirror and Prophecy Girl.
04SEP2007 13AUG2007
  • Began making modifications to the Gaeleth entries, to support more game systems than just d20 -- specifically, Warhammer updates, this go-round.
03AUG2007
  • Posted Harry McKenzie's story, "Death Rattles", about Captain Seamus Yarbus' ship, The Rattler.
13JUL2007
  • Posted Harry McKenzie's story, "Rites of Succession", about the Stonehelm Clan of Warkore dwarves in the aftermath of the War of the Four Winds.
12JUL2007
  • Inspired by a History Channel special on ancient Chinese weapons, I added d20-based equivalents for the foot crossbow and the flame thrower in the Gaeleth system.
21JUN2007
  • Used the GIMP program, http://www.gimp.org/, to redo some of the maps of Gaeleth side-by-side with sattelite data on Earth. The new maps are more realistic, and were mapped to a sphere to give non-mercator perspectives on several land-masses. A side-by-side, sphere-to-sphere gives an idea of how much larger than Earth Gaeleth is. Hopefully I'll get some time to make the new maps interactve and sub-linked.
15JUN2007 01JUN2007
  • Inspired by a History channel episdoe of Man, Moment, Machine, the inquisition page was updated with laws common to Inquisition-aligned areas. The episode was Leonardo DaVinci's invention of the wheel-lock pistol, and its effect on the French religious war and the assassination of the Duke of Guise.
31MAY2007
  • Added a special inset for Harry McKenzie on the Stonehelm Clan, a link available through the geopolitical map of Rakore (see 30MAY2007 entries).
30MAY2007
  • Went through and (torturously) added a "Where are they now?" paragraph to each and every PC entry. Ohmigod. That was something like 20 hours of coding! Watching the History Channel while I did that probably didn't help.
  • Posted two additional maps of Rakore -- one a geopolitical map with duchies, counties, and the other political entities... and another map based on the roads, underground highways, ferry-crossings, and major trails.
  • Posted initial stats and information for the iconic nations of Karmen and Nabroleth.
28MAY2007
  • Added a new module for DMs to use in Kalla, about a mad red dragon.
23MAY2007 13MAY2007
  • Linked into MeetUp dot com's local listings, in order to find a dependable group of role-players for Campaign VIII.
01MAY2007
  • Posted some newer pics, including ones from Kansas, 2004, and posted more pictures online.
27APR2007
  • I borrowed a page from my buddy Kale's book, and posted more pictures online.
16APR2007
  • Borrowed a line from the Warhammer system, and added a few new feats.
22FEB2007
  • Posted the 3rd and 4th installments of the Campaign VIII recaps. I have to apologize to the players for the delay; sometimes I just can't write worth a shit.
12FEB2007
  • Posted the 3.5E stats for Ulrich's Crown, the crown of the kings of Rakore. The item was inspired by the 'sphene' exhibit in the gem vault of the Houston Museum of Natural Science and Industry.
11JAN2007
  • The 2nd recap of Campaign VIII is up, and introduces Luke's new character, Taryn. The players explore the ruins of Tymarell, and battle a will o'wisp that nearly does them in.
08JAN2007
  • Posted the stats of my latest player character, Taryn (as played by Luke Parish), the second PC of Campaign VIII.

2006

22NOV2006

21NOV2006
  • Translated and updated a 2nd Edition Gaeleth paper on currencies, and updated it for v3.5 of Dungeons and Dragons. The update is available from the main Gaeleth page.
14NOV2006
  • After a long hiatus without DMing, I have returned. Posted the first recap for Campaign VIII: Freedom. (Todd! You still owe me a digital copy of your character sheet!)
05OCT2006
  • Went bonkers and put together a list of midievil Travel Times in the Gaeleth page. The new data should help players and DMs alike figure out how long a man can stay in the saddle, how high he could really jump, and how far he could swim, in addition to sail computations and analysis.
25SEP2006
  • Had a devil of a time going through the various campaigns and archiving them into a Campaign Timeline. For veterans of my campaigns, some of it will be nostalgic, while for the newbies it might be a bit disconcerting.
22SEP2006 16AUG2006
  • Put up our Open Gaming License to protect the SisterWorlds, and a number of our contributors.
15AUG2006
  • With Todd Antill's help, we went through and made the SisterWorlds more OGL-friendly. All references to the dwarven god and the sun god have been changed, to reflect new names. The Soul Forger's new name is Galgiran, and the Sun God's new name is Arpelos. The gods-listing was changed to better reflect this.
  • The armor of thorns spell was altered into a greater and lesser version.
  • Several new House Rules were added to the list, mainly dealing with skill points and 'stat penalties'.
  • Went through all of the gods of Gaeleth and added a 'specials' listing, wherein priests or other classes of the gods receive special bonuses. For instance, clerics of the Flame Goddess, Xoriah, can ignite almost any combustible they can touch.
27JUN2006
  • Put up a copy of my resume, in preparation for getting out of the Army.
11JUN2006
  • Posted the final recapitulization for Campaign VII. Thanks be to James Maglothin and Erin Kuszmaul for finding out who the traitor of Rakore was...
23MAY2006
  • Finally, after sitting on it for a month, posted a picture of a hippotaun that Brandy McPherson had drawn. Since they're such a staple to the dwarven cavalry of the current campaigns, I figured it was high time someone had an idea of what they look like. Thanks, Brandy.
  • Ron had sent this to me a couple of months ago, but I hadn't gotten off my butt and taken care of it like I should've. So, finally, is the posted picture of the Campaign VI gamers. We're a motley crew, aren't we?
  • Added the spell the Eye of Moradin, based off of past canon-exploits, and the ongoing advenures.
22MAY2006
  • Posted the recap of the latest session from Campaign VII. The situation for Rakore does not look good. A Rakoran courrier has been captured by ogran agents. Worse, the courrier has been tortured for information vital to the war effort.
20MAY2006 11MAY2006
  • Updated the *N*PCs in Campaign VII.
  • The same update in the NPCs of Campaign VII were somewhat added to the Lok Magius entry; essentially, the stats for the Shield Guardians have been released.
06MAY2006
  • Updated the PCs in Campaign VII.
  • Posted Tor's War, a story of the largest defender of Kashin during the Ogran War of 1329 in Rakore, a short-story written by Harry McKenzie.
30APR2006 22APR2006
  • Posted our newest player character, Savana Beth Lomaksan, as played by Erin Kuszmaul. Savana is a librarian-turned-hero, and we're all hoping she survives to be that one cute librarian with the sword that makes your day.
  • Got the latest recap finished and put up in Campaign VII.
03APR2006
  • Posted a new blog entry on Our Sense of Self.
02APR2006 29MAR2006
  • Tom Jahr is apparently still experiencing the urge to play as Aust Naillo, and cannot get it out of his system. I've given him a quick fix reason to keep from going insane: post fan-fic! Tom brings us The Lost City of Xoriah, a story about love, war, and temporal divergences.
13MAR2006
  • The latest recap is up. With Barome Revelstoke dead, Droog Grimfire takes on a righteous passion for vengeance, and acquires a new friend.
13MAR2006
  • The latest recap is up. The desert elf, Barome Revelstoke, dies at the hands of the sand orcs, and the dwarf called Droog survives a near-death experience that casts great doubt upon the integrity of Lok Magius itself.
10MAR2006
  • The latest recap is up. It's session #3 for the two guys I've got playing, and they took down a minotaur lizard! Brave knuckle-heads. Very brave, or very lucky...
27FEB2006
  • Posted another blog entry, about my time during in the field, during a rotation in the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk, Louisiana, with the 34th Infantry Division's 1st Brigade. It's more about me slogging through the day than the rotation itself, but it gives you an insight into what happens to chemical units 'in the box' at JRTC.
06FEB2006
  • Finally bit the bullet, and posted a few pics of misself.
03FEB2006
  • Completed the second recap for Campaign VII, By Force of Will.
  • I also did a minor update to the Rakore national entry, under Society; I consolidated the most common dwarven names, by clan, in Rakore, so that you could know where a dwarf is from, just by his name.
02FEB2006
  • Completed the first recap, introducing my first players in Louisiana, and starting off Campaign VII, By Force of Will.
31JAN2006
  • Posted a new blog entry, the first since November.
29JAN2006
  • We've had two sessions now in Campaign VII, By Force of Will. I still haven't done the recaps, yet, but the PCs are posted, and one of the player's histories / journals is up. I've still got a lot of work left to do to get Campaign VII flowing more smoothly, but it's coming along. My first player is Droog Grimfire, a dwarven cleric having a crisis of the faith, and exploring the arcane side of things, played by James MacGlothin. The second player is a desert elven archer with a deep-seated hatred of the orcs, named Barome Revelstroke, played by Erin Kuszmaul. Scheduling could be a bit of a problem, as I seem to be the only single guy in the group, but we'll work something out.
13JAN2006
  • After reading Terry McCarthy's The Sword of Hannibal, I realized that the lowly sling in the Player's Handbook was in line with the average American's perception of 'the sling'. A bit of research, and some help from Slingers dot org, led me to introduce a martial version of the sheppherd's sling. My model was the Balearic sling, famed throughout history for their range, accuracy, and deadliness in combat.

2005

10NOV2005

  • Harry McKenzie sent me his own take on the DnD version of the Skippy List (www.skippylist.com), and had me rolling. It's posted on the main Index page in the sample topics, and makes for some good reading.
  • I posted a blog entry to get everyone caught up on things, and explain the dearth of posts in a few months.
19SEP2005
  • I posted the final recapitulation of Campaign VI, the Hunter Wolves. The crew lasted twelve sessions, and this, the twelft and final installation in Campaign VI, is not so much an ending -- as a beginning.
08SEP2005
  • Added two new characters (twin drow rogue/monks, Handir and Thri'Sil), updated the latest game session, and tweaked some of Campaign VI, the Hunter Wolves...
16AUG2005
  • Made a bitmap file that depicts the Gaeleth-Maroth system from above the plane of the ecliptic, and it helps visually describe everything from high tides to how much of the sky Maroth obscures when it's directly overhead. With the file, you can calculate to the nearest half-mark when Maroth will rise or set, as well. The file was placed in the Calendar of Gaeleth, with minor modifications to the calendar to reflect the changes.
08AUG2005
  • I tweaked some of the maps so that they could link through to some of the nations that, while not detailed, are at least explained a bit better (such as Karanal).
  • I also revamped the old 2nd Edition vision chart, such that low-light vision and darkvision were better explained, and reintroduce infravision and supravision, since the references are still there in a great deal of the literature (such as RA Salvatore's Dark Drow series).
06AUG2005
  • The Ogre Nations has invaded. Rakore is about to fall. There is still a traitor within. And two of the only people in the world who know they are poised to strike Takanal from within -- have died. Campaign VI continues, minus two of its own.
05AUG2005
  • "Where's the recap?" "Are you done with the recap?" "When's the recap due?" (grin) All right, all right..! Here's the latest recapitulation of Campaign VI, the Hunter Wolves.
02AUG2005
  • Posted the stats for the other one of my latest player characters. Ian McCord plays a knowledge-hungry cloistered monk by the name of Rell.
01AUG2005
  • Posted the stats for two of my three latest player characters. Ryan Ruby plays a desert elven archer named Ta'Crae Sandrider, and Ron Johnson players a half Sholin, half aquatic elf by the name of Kaisumi Setatoro.
29JUL2005
  • Put in a new blog -- and I'm still trying to figure out if I should keep this up, here, or leave it on MySpace. Seems like it's cluttering up SisterWorlds.
26JUL2005
  • Updated the House Rules a tad for the current campaigns.
20JUL2005
  • Fixed up last previously posted blog, and added a new one. Having read the reports on blogs, even before posting one, I find myself constantly second-guessing myself on this issue. Will it bite me in the arse? Is it appropriate? Should it be pass-protected? Only time will tell. Oi.
14JUL2005
  • With a new player due to join in, soon, I had to go back and take a look at the 'languages of Gaeleth'. Apparently, I've built up a wide little world, here, and never stopped to organize all the languages, dialects, racial languages, national languages, and more. Done.
09JUL2005
  • I started a blog. Writing the first entry was draining, as I let out a bit of the venom I've been carrying around with me for a few years. If you want listen to the ravings of a mad man, then click here.
29JUN2005
  • Diego sent me some more art work, including colorized versions of the pics for Ethos and Zap (from my current campaign), an updated tomanth pic, and a picture of my very first character, Prat. Woohoo!
28JUN2005
  • Some sort of hardware failure at ImHosted dot com caused a week's worth of data to be lost, misdirected everyone trying to log in to SisterWorlds to some other site. The issue's been fixed, thanks to some hard work from the guys at ImHosted, and some heavy recoding by Yours Truly.
  • Posted Harry MacKenzie's story, New Beginnings -- a tale about Captain Seamus helping an old friend to face up to her responsibilities.
  • Posted Brandy McPherson's short about what her character, Chimera, has been up to since the campaign left off.
  • Posted the latest recap to Campaign VI, wherein Zap and Xennith are hunted by an assassin, and then tricked into being buried alive in a salt cave.
  • Damn. Almost forgot that Diego'd sent me some more artwork -- and I'd posted it, but that was before the crash. He sent me pics of Rain Straith (played by Theresa Shearer), Travis Durasoth (played by Adam Montgomery), and Sam (played by Diego himself).

18JUN2005

  • Diego is running his own campaign, set in the Alekdan Principalities of Gaeleth. Since Diego actually wrote the entry for the Principalities, he's the perfect DM to help define those lands. He sent me recaps of his sessions, and I love the concepts he's introducing -- the intrique, the twists, and the manipulations -- in a campaign called Free Will. To accomodate Diego, and other DMs that run campaign eXtra to my own, I've created the X Campaigns section for Gaeleth -- for DMs running parallel campaigns on Gaeleth.

17JUN2005

  • Put up Diego DaSilva's artwork for the current campaign, Campaign VI; he did character sketches for my PCs, and I'm very grateful for them.

30MAY2005

29MAY2005

  • Posted the sixth session of Campaign VI.
  • Put up the stats for Xennith, a character played by Sam Lee.

28MAY2005

14MAY2005

  • Posted the second and third sessions of the recent campaign. Unfortunately, this is the first time I've wiped out an entire party -- even if it was a party of only two -- for Campaign VI: the Hunter Wolves.

03MAY2005

  • Uploaded Campaign VI, the Hunter Wolves. My two players so far are a human fighter, Zap (played by Brent Mabe) and an elven cleric, Ethos (played by Ramon Guel).

15APR2005

  • Woohoo! Tax day! Has it been six weeks, since I posted? Hrm. I need players. Badly. When I have players, I post like a mad man, brimming over with ideas.
  • Inspired by my first-ever 'graduate of the war college', I crafted a new magical item available to PCs after completing a special six-month long course. The cloak of the Wolves' Den must be earned.

30MAR2005

  • Posted part 14 of the Son of a Witch / FrostMage story.
  • Added the 'final' installment of Xzax's journal, which explains the splitting of the group from Campaign V, Chapter 4. This long-lasting, arcing storyline encompassed a war between the nearly extinct dragons, and an alliance of two nations bent on genocide, as well the ressurection of a vampiric medusa that was both aiding and hindering the group's attempts to find the legendary artifact known only as Al Mudim. In this, the last installment of Xzax's journal, it becomes clear to the young half-dragon that Al Mudim is a tool that destroy whole worlds -- and someone must find it, and destroy it.

13FEB2005

  • Diego's sent me another bit of art work, and promises more just about every day. If you haven't seen his online journal, yet, then you should check it out: it's gritty, it's real, and it's the 'true story' of the war over in Iraq. http://www.livejournal.com/users/intellectawe/ for his blog at LiveJournal dot com. The latest update is 'Nicholai', one of the umpteen zillion guys I was running for in this latest campaign, although his player, Dallas Garrett, never got a chance to bring him to the table because of scheduling conflicts and the like.

05FEB2005

  • Whoa! Despite the craziness of war, it sometimes has its bright side; Diego Dasilva, our long-gone resident artist, is back with a vengeance! Currently deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he's found inspiration and spare time to draw, again. Two of his works just got posted, based on the latest campaign... One is of the diminutive Trixie, and the other is a group picture!

10JAN2005

  • Been running into some FTP problems, and I don't think it's a problem with imhosted. From the looks of things, it may be a problem with trying to FTP from [PROTECTED], but it's a situation my brother and I are working on. In the meantime, there may remain some graphic link problems, and I'm deffinately going to hold off on updating any of the maps for awhile. In other news, work on my story's been progressing well. However, I'm at the stage where I need some real reader-feedback, to see if it's worth continuing, or I need to restart on a lot of areas, or just scrap the project and start it over from scratch with a little bit better understanding of things. So, now, published for the first time anywhere... Son of a Witch.

2004
22DEC2004

  • Ebbeh. It's been almost three months since I last updated?! Holy cow. Okay, so I haven't gotten up off my butt and found a group to play with, over here in Korea. I've got a 'meet and greet' scheduled for all the DnD players on [PROTECTED], for January 8th -- and hopefully I'll pick up a group, then, but that will also involve putting together a decent slide-show for the newbies or people curious about playing. [Note to self: ensure a chaplain or the MP's are there to get rid of the usual 'The Devil is in Dungeons and Dragons' nuts.] What's chewing up my time, right now (other than work) is writing a full-length novelette-slash-expanded short story. The story is practically writing itself, which is both good and bad. It's good, in that it won't take me long to put out a lot of story. It's bad, because that means a lot of back-editting, before it's ready for posting. In the meantime, y'all hang in there, and if you see something that needs updating or work, let me know.

12OCT2004

  • Adjusted my bio and mil-file to reflect current events. Since my transition from Kansas to [PROTECTED], I haven't had much time or computer access time to update any of the pages, or continue any of my changes. The decision to divorce my wife has also made things rough. My last campaign ended in disaster, because of interplayer difficulties (as well as trying to run nine PC's at once). I still haven't found a group to play with, over here, and until my computer arrives in another couple of weeks, things will have to remain in limbo.

11JUN2004

  • Put up the recap from Mission 02 of the new campaign -- where a guild of assassins kicks the players butts as they make the number one mistake in Dungeons and Dragons:  splitting up the party.

26MAY2004

  • Put up the latest from Seamus' journal, about the attempted close-out for the previous campaign.
  • Also put up the latest from Cleo's journal.
  • Added in the stats and info for the Rattler, one of the ships in the previous campaign.
  • Posted the recap of Mission 19 from the Search for Al Mudim.
  • Posted Pamela Parish's character, Kerri -- the first of the Ticata, a new, unique race to Gaeleth.
  • Posted Eve-Elizabeth DeMais' character, Trixie -- a pixie-like bard.
  • Posted Carl deSoto's character, Hrothgar -- a feral gnoll ranger.
  • Finally put up the first session of the new campaign, Chapter Five in the fifth campaign of Gaeleth.

23APR2004

  • After a year's sabbatical (in the deserts of Kuwait), a new adventure is ready.  Campaign V continues from Kansas, though we begin a new chapter, with new heroes and new adventures.  To prepare for this, a number of pages were expanded and enlarged -- primarily those dealing directly with the new chapter, set in Kashin, Rakore.  Chapter 5 introduces some new people to Gaeleth, as well as bringing back some familiar faces.  One can recognize Edition 3.5 of Dungeons and Dragons by the black background; all such changes took place in 2003-2004.
  • Reworked all of the gods of Gaeleth, and added Xynosalionisis -- the God of Memories.
  • Updated the Princess Sword, a legendary item.
  • Put up the racial stats and translations for Gaeleth, which included translations of the drow and drow'ari.  This allowed for the addition of the different orc types:  frost orcs, sand orcs, rock orcs, and bog orgs.  Also added the duergar of Gaeleth, as well as all the separate human sub-types (Amarans, Chilleans, Slates, Destanae, and Sholin).
  • Finally published the over arcing storyline -- the Master Plan history for Gaeleth.
  • Rebuilt the House Rules for 3.5 and the new campaigns.
  • Posted Tristan Key's character, Norion (a human wizard) and his special character for the NPCs, Thorfinn Stoneskull (a half earth-elemental fighter).
  • Posted Brandy McPherson's new character, Cassandra -- a human cleric, part-golem.
  • Posted Dallas Garrett's character, Nicholai -- a human fighter.
  • Posted Fred Feeley's new character, Gabriel -- an elven sorcerer.
  • Posted Harry 'Mac' McKenzie's new character, Tor -- a minotaur barbarian.
  • Posted Paul Watson's character, Bjarne Bearstrider -- a human barbarian.
  • Altered and updated the paladins, to incorporate a code for paladins to live by.
  • Created a new character race, based off of a concept from Caren Boyd, called the Ticata -- a sort of centaur-like, half-fox, half-feline.
  • Reworked the special metals page.
  • Crafted a prestige class for druid-sorcerers that use the bow -- the Cadyran.
  • Added a new piece of fiction, called Prat's War, about the invasion of Rakore by the Ogre Nations -- and 'other things'.
  • Updated and changed my Author's Info, and related pages.
  • Altered the Castle Rezjomon entry, to reflect its status in the Dragon Nations.
  • Craft a new template -- the Seeker -- for the Inquisition.
  • Created an 'average' character for the current campaign.
  • Posted the long-awaited information regarding Gaeleth's Towers.
  • Also published the history of the Karatikan Alliance.
  • Posted information on a number of the Nations of Gaeleth, such as the Toomar Tribes, the Amar Tribes, and the Sholin Tribes.  Also revamped or revised entries for the Empire of Vridara, the Ogre Nations, the Dragon Nations, Al Fahim, Kinshasa, the Sebre Druids, the Empire of Karanalthe Alekdan Principalities, Karanal, and Kur Maeth. (The primary purpose was to put in the regional feats.)
  • Editted the History and Calendar of Gaeleth.
  • Rebuilt the Rakoran files of Hallis Island, Rilan, and Lok Magius.
  • Altered the NPC page for (ahem!) DM reasons.
  • Had to update Mistress Brin of the Mages' Academy.
  • Translated Delbin Arcanus into 3.5, as the Extraplanar Studies Instructor for Lok Magius.
  • Translated Jynx Maysolou into 3.5, as the Mage Smuggler.
  • Translated Henrik 'Prat' Kamus into 3.5, as the Duke of Hallis Island.
  • Changed the Advisor's Board site.
  • Changed over the tomanths for 3.5 Edition.
  • Added the Hand of Storms magical item -- a spiked gauntlet with some shocking qualities.
  • Fixed or worked on: SoulSuck spell, as well as Prayer Shield, Detect Iron, and many more.
  • Consolidated the information about the Sea of Kiriath into one site.
  • Crafted a new spell at Tristan's suggestion -- Armor of Thorns, as a part of the new Retribution domain, and as a general, 2nd-level defensive/attack spell for sorcerers and wizards.
  • Added Norion's Concussive Blast as a new 2nd-level spell.

  • Placed a new prestige class by Tristan Key, the Rikishi, based upon the sumo warriors of old.

  • Fixed some bugs that became apparent in the Thriblade and Torch of Xoriah prestige classes.

  • Posted the stats on Rial Mhenace -- the architect and engineer of Gideon Enterprises.
  • Revised the ships system, to include floor plans and schematics for a number of vessels not listed in the Seafarer's Handbook -- such as carracks, brigandines, clippers, and more. (Removed the Skate from the NPC page, and placed it on the ships page.)

04NOV02

  • Both Macs sent in their journal updates, bringing Cleo, Xzax, and Seamus up to date.
  • Brandy returns as Chimera, a half-orc, half-desert elf.

  • Fixed Mistress Brin's stats to reflect her status as Arch Mage of Lok Magius.

01NOV02

  • Brandy sent me a letter all the way from Oklahoma, where she's undergoing training. Even though unable to join us in the campaign, she sent a letter Jena had written to Cleo. Now all I have to do is figure out when it reaches the party!

30OCT02

  • Harry-Mac sent me a new letter, to go with Cleo's thoughts.
  • For those of you that have been keeping up with the campaign, the Search for Al Mudim module has grown to eight chapters, and currently encompasses a progression of 1st- to 5th-level characters. Players, keep your mitts out of the module. The rest of you, might want to check all the updates within the module.

26OCT02

  • Posted a new journal on the site, for the current campaign. Lucian is the group's arcane firepower, and his story, thoughts, and history are all condensed into a myriad of short little stories.

  • Posted a special module, the Ruins of Terrace -- intended for use next time we game, so PC's -- don't be naughty.

01OCT02

  • Added a number of updates from the current Campaign V, to include:
  • Posted Mac's update for Seamus' Journal.
  • Missions 7, 8, and 9 -- a three day blitzkrieg of Dungeons and Dragons for Brandy, before she left for Fort Sill and a month of training at PLDC. The campaign will continue in her absence, and these sessions give us an opt for bowing her character out during that time that few could have imagined in the beginning: Jena is pregnant.
  • Updated all of the current character's stats and sheets.

30SEP02

  • Added a template to the ships section for Ghost Ships.

24SEP02

  • Added a new item, related to the current campaign -- Kithir al Ye'amen -- a ring with which to find new members of a quest.

04AUG02

  • Chapter Four of Campaign V has begun. The latest campaign revolves around the Search of Al Mudim, an ancient artifact whose power rivalled the Godslayer sword -- though no one seems to know just what it is. The Search for Al Mudim should become an epic-level saga of good versus evil. But it could turn into a PC squashing if something goes wrong.
  • Oh, yeah -- Happy Birthday, Pam!

26MAY02

  • Posted Wuron S'fa -- the Dragon Nation -- and all related notations and changes, to include a short diatribe on the dragons of Gaeleth.

08MAY02

  • Posted something that got stuck in my head, after reading CJ Sherryh's short-story, "The Scapegoat." Harry Turtledove's editted a book entitled, "The Best Military Science Fiction of the 20th Century." It lives up to the name. "Keep Going".

03MAY02

  • Added the thirteenth and final installment of Chapter Three, from the current campaign. It's the end of a long and hard-fought road, and a sad good-bye to Dan and Diego. We'll miss you, guys.
  • Posted the Castle Rezjommon, as an add-on to the final installment of the current campaign chapter. Castle Rezjommon -- a floating castle, powered by the souls of the damned, and infested with golems that can drive a man insane...

10APR02

  • Back from sabbatical -- and a trip to the Mojave Desert for a month. Made some minor changes throughout all the pages, and finished up some loose ends. Added the twelfth installment of the current campaign, chapter two -- as well as posting a pic of the guys. Also posted a long-awaited breakdown on the clerics of Gaeleth, and how they work.

04FEB02

  • Listed Garalus, the Chosen of Phelor, as an NPC. Garalus is the head of the Church of Phelor on Gaeleth, and as such, represents an historic place in the archives of all religious libraries.

28JAN02

10JAN02

  • Added details on Lake Tuvoi, and the Ruins of Terezcotta, in preparation for an upcoming gameing session. (Current campaign PC spoiler; be advised.)
  • Posted Chapter Three of Campaign V, The Hunters and the Hunted. Chapter Three is intended as a strictly modular campaign based in Rakore, for players of 1st- to 4th- level.

2001
08DEC01

  • Did the background and detail work on the Mule Mountains of Halganath, to include Tugren's Tower, the Order of Devon, and the Clan of the Hoar Frost.
  • Redesigned the Gaeleth main page to reflect the campaigns, and reorganized that page to make accessing the current campaign a bit easier.
  • Added encounter tables (by Hit Die) for the jungles and undead of Gaeleth.
  • Added a separate science page, for those who need the nitty-gritty on how Gaeleth works.

10NOV01

  • Issued a major revision to a more art-intensive page, intended to bring in more people and more interest, thanks to the help of the resident artist, Diego Dasilva. Be sure and check out his galleries; updates for both HTML pages and new pics will be maintained. I won't list all the little changes that have taken place since the last update to make the pages flow more easily, but stay tuned.
  • Our showcase page is Phoenix, a Player Character whose HTML codeing and graphics will hopefully stand as the example for all future endeavors.

28OCT01

  • After purchasing a scanner, I managed to squeeze in some of the pics I took from my rotation to the National Training Center at Fort Irwin in California, from mid September to mid October. Seems like forever ago, since I updated the page.
  • Posted the encounters tables to give DM's a guide to the standard run-ins on Gaeleth.

12SEP01

  • Posted five new Player Characters for a new mini-campaign I'm running. These guys have never played 3rd Edition before, and this gives them an opportunity to showcase their role-play skills to a new Dungeon Master, as well. Joining us are Paul Watson, Michele Anderson, Tom Jahr, and Brandy and Philip "Mac" McPherson, with special guest appearances by Diego Dasilva. Each of the five is playing a separate class to get a better feel for things, and they're playing, in order, a dwarven fighter named Helcar, an elven ranger named Aerlyn, an elven druid named Kerith, a halfling sorceress named Seraphina, and an elven monk named Artimus. I wish them all the best of luck in the new campaign.
  • Added a new spellbook for the campaign, that of Tugren Halbot, a hermit that lived in the Mule Mountains during the early days of the Inquisition.

01SEP01

  • Posted Sam, the 'Black Rock Merc'. Played by Diego Dasilva, Sam has a certain character that lends himself well to the campaign.
  • Also posted the second mission for the current campaign, The Silent Battles.
  • Fixed a few minor bugs in the 'nations' section. FYI, for those of you who didn't know, extreme details are available of the primary nations in which we play, and I intend to add more as the list expands. Current nationalities for campaigns include: Rakore, Vridara, the Alekdan Principalities, the Ogre Nations, and Kur Maeth.

14AUG01

  • Added a new campaign character: Cali-bras, as played by Diego Dasilva. Cali-bras is an elven paladin of Phelor that, while not too bright, more than makes up for it in heart.
  • Did some minor editting and corrections of the Var Gauf.
  • Updated the DM Data in Gaeleth to reflect the new, current campaign, so watch the spoilers, guys.

10AUG01

  • Added the fearsome Var Gauf -- also known as the Seekers -- to the list of prestige classes availabe on Gaeleth. Incidentally, they are also available on Jazed, and are perhaps the only class capable of casting arcane magic on that world.
  • Updated the city of Kashin, in Rakore.
  • Posted data on the halflings of Gaeleth. Up until this point, I had disallowed them as a player race, perhaps more because of 2nd Edition feelings towards them, but also from a 'realism' perspective.

08AUG01

  • Added three new campaign characters: Travis, played by Adam Montgomery, Faeradd, played by Ed Shearer, and Phoenix, played by Theresa Shearer. Together, this team of a half-elven paladin, a gnomish illusionist, and an elven druid started off a new chapter in Campaign V: The Silent Battles.
  • Posted the general campaign information relating to all paladins on the world of Gaeleth.

2AUG01

30JUL01

  • Posted the prestige classes of the Disciples, and the Chosen. These are Gaeleth-specific classes, and not intended for use elsewhere because of the incredible abilities they give priests.

29JUL01

18JUN01

  • Added a new Player Character, a human tiefling that looks like a half-elf, by the name of Hone. He joins us via Lars Sorenson, of Fort Riley, Kansas.

06JUN01

  • Translated the longsword 'Bloodlust' from 2nd to 3rd Edition. Bloodlust is one of those cursed swords that's almost worth having.

31MAY01

  • Posted a background story for the current campaign -- Campaign V. When Gaeleth, and the SisterWorlds, came into existence back in '96, I never imagined where it would take me. My writing style's improved a bit, and my story-telling's improved even more. Each campaign has taken place in a different locale, from Texas to Alabama, and the Republic of Korea, to Kansas. Campaign V has helped to fill out more of Gaeleth, and its premier nation, Rakore, than I would have thought possible. It's been nine years, campaign time, since my first Player Character walked the forests of a then wild land. The four PCs that brave Rakore now, do so with a wealth of background set down by other campaigns. And one day, others will build upon what they have created in this story.

08MAY01

  • Posted the item known as Carbonar -- a longsword dedicated to Habrem, the Goddess of Music.

07APR01

  • Between military deployments and the breakup with a fiancee, the last few months've been hell on this site. But there's always hope.
  • Posted the Third Edition translations of the Tomanths, everyone's favorite NPC.
  • Posted the NPC page, and the first vict -- uhm -- volunteer, Arkumil Despot, the premier Master Thief of the west.
  • Put up the stats on my PCs for Campaign V, Realms of Predjudice.

05FEB01

  • Updated the list of gods, and updated and added two new ones -- Argunas, the Demon God, and Mazripos, the Rot Goddess.

21JAN01

  • Relocated a lot of the fiction unrelated to the SisterWorlds, to Khavik's folder. Looking into modifying a lot of the weapons styles; Renshai pointed out some /serious/ bugs, though Nariko'nae style seems to be a keeper.

14JAN01

  • Added most of the weapons styles common to the Gaeleth campaigns. Each weapons style can be considered a feat, and many of them are cumulative, resulting in devestatingly effective feats -- while at the same time maintaining game play and balance.

2000
31DEC00

  • Added a story entitled, "The Lady Shore", highlighting a set of ruins found in the Dorinoc Forests. The story may serve as the foundation for a 3E module if enough people are interested.

28DEC00

  • Translating information from 2nd-Edition to 3rd takes time, but for those who were impatient -- or just wanted background information -- the old 2nd-Edition site was added in its entirety. Some images and links may not work, but 95% of the data was reinstated, as per the demand. The link can be found on the main page, in the left-hand margin...

24DEC00

11DEC00

  • Posted the base stats on the Srik, one of the deadliest insects on all of Gaeleth.
  • Posted the Battlerager prestige class.

24NOV00

  • Posted info on the drow, as well as other general racial information on Gaeleth.
  • Posted the Encyclopedia Gaelica; though incomplete, it gives more detailed listings of specific entries.
  • Posted the calendar of events on Gaeleth, as well as the established methods of keeping track of the days and months. An XL '97 spreadsheet is included.
  • Posted the falling skill, which allows characters to survive greater falling damage, both intentional and accidental, to the Gaelethic world.
  • Posted several PC References, such as Gideon Enterprises, and the spellbooks of Lok Magius.
  • Posted the craft poison skill, which allows characters to create various poisons.

15NOV00

  • Posted 'SisterWorlds.com', hosted by NetQuest. Information translated from 2nd Edition Dungeons and Dragons to 3rd Edition included on the page. Hosting transferred from GeoCities because of embedding problems. Untranslated (2nd Edition) information available upon request.
