Al Fahim
Al Fahim is a large kingdom, extending all through the Gintala Desert. Bordered on all sides save a narrow isthmus by water, the kingdom is fairly isolated from the outside world. The people are primarily nomadic, using camels and occasionally horses to sheppherd large flocks of sheep or small herds of cattle. They do some fishing and farming, as well. The kingdom is fairly old, and the peoples divided into castes, and it is possible to advance through the castes (lowest to highest: servitor, provider, herd, guard, merchant/diplomat, warrior, noble, holy, king). Women are generally considered of a separate caste in itself, though on rare occasions, they do move through the male castes. The people of Al Fahim tend to be polygamous. They are also very territorial; instead of outright warfare, they prefer harassing an enemy until he leaves of his own accord. If an enemy cannot be forced to consider moving of his own accord, then he is befriended or assassinated. Clan wars among the nobles are common, with the King generaly keeping out of them. Such battles keep the warrior and guard castes well-trained, and the merchant caste on their toes. Rarely do the clan wars escalate, or involve more than two clans during any given year; enemies become friends become enemies. It is Fahimic tradition to allow anyone, friend or enemy, into one's encampment to stay. If welcomed, a friend will be given food, a woman, and such luxuries as can be afforded. If an enemy is welcomed, he will be given flee-ridden blankets, and bad foods, in an attempt to provoke a duel. Most of the Fahimic people tend to follow Galanus, Rahne, or Habrem.
