LADY CLEO, the Shadow
"That which kills me, makes me stronger."

Current Status: Summer, 1331 Avard. Lady Cleo rarely left the side of her friend and lover, Commodore Seamus, during the War of the Four Winds. Remaining in the shadows and striking from the darkness, she managed to keep Seamus alive long enough to make commodore. Though once saddened by her curse, she has grown to accept it as a part of who she is, and is slowly but steadily beginning to take less of a shadowy and more of a showy role as the commodore's side.

Possessions: Cleo wears tight-fitting leather armor that not only accentuates her slight figure, but provides adequate protection in a brawl. On her hips is usually slung her +1 rapier She wears gloves of climbing and swimming +10, as well as a number of throwing daggers, masterwork leather armor (with a +2 bonus to hide checks, because of camouflaging), and a small buckler +1. A light crossbow with plenty of spare quarrels is part of her gear, as well as a leather backpack with a bedroll, waterskin, disguise kit (to include fimly negligees), rope, flint and steel, and a number of other odds and ends. Secreted about herself are her masterwork thieves' picks and tools and the odd coin or two. The golden ring she wears on her left hand is a ring of protection +2. She also wears a kiriath bracelet (nondetection and invisibility to undead), and a cloak of elvenkind. Often slung over her shoulder is a rope of climbing. Sometimes on her, and sometimes not, is a watered-steel longsword with the official Royal Seal of Rakore stamped on the base of the blade -- an indication of her title and status as a knight of Rakore.

Asia Argento (image used without permission) Appearance: Cleo is a dark-haired, light-skinned waif of a girl already showing the considerable endowment she will possess later on. At sixteen, Her large, almond-shaped eyes belie only the emotions she wants them to -- until her young emotions overwhelm her. Quick and lithe, professionals realize that she has great potential, while the less seasoned among men (and women) may overlook her deadly stalk. Her clothing is all leathers of dark material -- soft, comfortable, skin-tight -- and giving her considerable freedom-of-motion. Background: Growing up in Teras before the founding of Rakore, Cleo lost her family to the undead, and her eye to subsequent infection. A determined survivor, she used any means at her disposal -- including her own body -- to make it in the alleys of Teras. She has changed her appearance as often as she could to elude the authorities when her thefts became noticeable, and has hid in brothels and on the streets when necessary. Sometimes not even knowing when her next meal might be, this tough young street urchin known as "One-Eyed Cleo" jumped at the chance to join Huzar Ye'amen al Sharral of Al Fahim's quest to rid the world of Al Mudim. Of course, the potion of quest he tricked her into imbibing might have had something to do with that.

She had originally lost one eye at the young of six, to disease. Her death, and subsequent ressurection, restored her eye. This, and her deadly experience, have left an indelible mark upon her soul. After finding out she was demonically possessed, she killed herself -- only to kill the demon, as well. When she was raised from the dead, her own spirit returned, but the demon's body was partially merged with hers.

She was knighted by Duke Henrik Kamus for her role in capturing a small fleet of pirates.

Roleplaying Notes: Cleo is a hands-on kind of girl that likes to flirt, knows who to fear and who to fight, and keeps her eyes open whenever possible. She's a master at manipulating people with her feminine whiles and her determined lethalism. Too young yet to know how big the world really is, she's learning that she has a lot to learn -- and enjoying every minute of it. She keeps in shape at night by shadow-boxing and night wrestling, and has developed a strange affinity for dark places since her death and ressurection.
