Current Status: Summer, 1331 Avard. Aust married the Chosen of Xoriah, and was promoted to the title of Bishop of Xoriah for Rakore, while still maintaining his Rakoran feudal title of Knight. After the near-destruction of Kashin, Aust and his beloved helped with the rebuilding of Kashin. Both have much to do in Rakore, but hope to one day search for the lost city of Xoriah, and explore the Flame of Xoriah in Tyven. During the War of the Four Winds, Aust was elevated by Xoriah to Disciple, and often visits the temple of Xoriah in Teras, run by a priest appropriately named Torch.
Male Sylvan Elf, 6th-Level Cleric of Xoriah
Skills: Craft (bowyer/fletcher) +2, Heal +9, Hide +3, Knowledge (geography) +2, Knowledge (religion) +7, Listen +5, Profession sailing +7, Search +3, Speak Language (Dwarven, Draconic) No Checks, Spellcraft +4, Spot +8. Appearance: Aust has a slight, but muscular build. His blue eyes are piercing when he glares at someone. His brown hair and tanned skin allow him to look as natural in the woods as any elf can. The lines on his face show a life spent outside, mostly on ships within the past forty years, until the War of the Undead. He tends to wear chain, and dark-red leathers. Background: During the war Aust met Saranella, the Chosen of Xoriah, who tested Aust and offered him a life of serving The Flame Goddess. Aust immediately took to the way of the cleric as he was searching for a meaning to his life after he found out that his home village had been wiped out and any that were not dead were scattered all over the world. Believing his family destroyed Aust looked to the church as his family and threw himself into his studies as a cleric. He learns quick, but his life has taught him not to make friends to quick for they may not be alive in the morning. He will make friends with anyone in the party that wishes to take the time to talk to him as long as they have lasted at least a day with this crew that seems to be hunted by trouble. He is reserved and does not talk to anyone that does not approach him. As he gets used to being around the group he becomes more jovial and willing to join in a good joke, as well as letting his tongue loose to show his wit and not being afraid to take an open shot at anyone to include party members. Aust does not seem to show any fear in the face of anything and keeps his head very well in combat. Spells are the weapon of choice, even though Aust is handy with a sword or a punching dagger. Aust has not forgotten the skills learned as a child with a bow, but does not see himself as an archer as much as a healer and motivator of the troops on the front lines. Recently, Aust was granted the title of 'knight' by Duke Henrik Kamus of Hallis Isle. Along with the title came nine hectares of land, to use as he saw fit, and to administer in the duke's name as an officer of the duchy. However, Aust had to resign the position in the government due to the restrictions put on a cleric of Xoriah. Aust has agreed to serve in the position of religious advisor to the council for the area that the party has been given.
The Book of Aust Roleplaying Notes: Aust is a pillar of strength and faith in the midst of a storm -- quiet, strong, and usually out of sight, but always there, holding up whatever ends he may. His faith is the kind of quiet, forceful thing that is so real that he does not need to push it on anyone. He truly beleives that his actions will speak for him, in the long run, better than conversion or preaching. Aust has a slow-burning hatred for the undead that once pushed him heavily into the bottle. He recovered from the incident of his own accord, and the event has left him with an even stronger, quicker-to-burn hatred for the undead -- and the Inquisition.
Followers: Aust has attracted a number of loyal and faithful followers, the first of which is Reydus -- formerly of the Burning Sun monastery, and one of Etre'iya's Guard. Back up to the PCs Listing |
