Skills: Craft (weaponsmithing) +6*, Handle Animal +6, Intimidate +3, Ride +9. (+2 bonus to Craft checks, as per Rakore background.)
Feats: Cleave, Exotic Weapon Proficiency (bastard sword), Mounted Combat, Power Attack, Tower Shield Proficiency, Weapon Focus (bastard sword).
Languages: Common, some Dwarven (particularly the subject of smithing).
Date of Birth: Cal 17th, 1309 Avard.
Possessions: Zap has a masterwork bastard sword of his own making, second-hand half-plate armor, and a heavy crossbow with several cases of bolts.  He also keeps a pack with his smithing tools, a bedroll, blanket, rope, soap, torches, a waterskin, and the like.  His most prized possession is his Cloak of the Wolves' Den, presented to him for graduating 3rd in his class at the War College at the Wolves' Den Temple of Rahne.

Appearance: Zachary tends to dress in earth-tones of dark leathers and lighter cottons, with light padded armor beneath his functional-but-plain half-plate.  His thick leather boots have steel caps to match his armor, with one dented in from some past fight.  His blue eyes are matched by a dark blue cloak trimmed in gray wolf's fur, that comes down to his calves and has a functional hood.  The hilt of a masterfully crafted bastard-sword, juts up over one shoulder, and his large frame and hulking countenance lend to his air of strength.  Zap's long, light-brown hair is kept back in a warrior's braid, though it often gets free of its clasp.  His blue eyes and strong face with laugh lines, even in one so young, mark him as a serious man that's quick to laugh.

Background:  Zap was named for his hyperactive tendencies as a child to zap from point to point like a lightning bolt.  Born Zachary to Wesley and Fae Kantor, he grew up in the lower middle-class portion of Kashin a happy and loved boy.  His younger sister, Leigh, showed a high degree of intelligence at a young age, and the strong Zap eagerly took to the brotherly duties of both protecting her and harassing her as only a good sibling can.  Zap's father went from apprentice to journeyman weaponsmith under the tutelage of Vaden Stonegrudge.  When Zap was old enough to apprentice out, he went to work for Elkar Stormblade for several years, before earning enough to attend the War College with a combined scholarship from Elkar Stormblade, Vaden Stonegrudge, and his own father.

During the Night of the Assassins in Kashin, Zap's sister Leigh was killed by a crossbow bolt that most assumed was a stray from some battle -- but Zap believes was an assassination, brought on by Seekers and Inquisitors who may have aided or abetted the Night of the Assassins.

Roleplaying Notes: Conspiracy theories pour out of Zap light from the sun.  Oddly enough, many of them may be true.  He tends to talk himself into trouble as fast as his tongue will allow, even though his heart and his head both mean well.  In some odd way, Zap is the epitome of the big, dumb fighter -- and yet he's not stupid; just erratic and unpredictable.  People respond to Zap in one of two ways:  they either love him, or they hate him.  A prideful, caring man, Zap jumps head-first into trouble, trusting in  his training and his instincts to keep him alive long enough to realize he's in trouble.  No matter how bad the situation, though, Zap always keeps a positive outlook and a ready smile for his friends.
