Special: Delbin's sphere of annihilation floats over his left shoulder and back just a bit, ethereal and invisible to anyone without true sight. At his will and his command, the sphere and its devastating effects can be summoned from the ethereal to do his bidding, be it destroy a door, or consume a soul. Possessions:  Delbin wears a set of scarlet robes that function as robes of the arch magi (gray).  He carries in a scabbard at his side a sword of the planes, along with his eating dagger.  On his hands, he wears a glove of storing (with a +2 dagger of throwing and returning in it) and a gauntlet of rust that matches the scarlet color of his robes.  About his neck is an amulet of the planes, and on his fingers are a ring of protection +5 and a ring of spell storing.  On his feet are boots of teleportation that also match his robes.
Arcane Spells: 4/6/5/5/5/5/3/3/2. Delbin's spell repertoire is considerable.  His favored spells include quickened magic missiles, teleportation, and delayed blast fireball, along with plane shift and teleport without error, linked to a contingency.

Appearance: His most striking features are his eyes, with irises the color of blood.  Delbin's hair is black, with iridescent streaks in it, and is usually pulled back in a pony-tail.  He wears crimson robes of a distinctive cut, with a myriad of button-down pockets, even inside the sleeves of the robes.  Delbin wears a red leather belt with black fittings, with a sword on his hip of the same red leather and black fittings.  His boots are made of a red and black leather to match the belt, as is a leather gauntlet on his left hand.  His right hand is covered in a thin glove of the same bright red cloth as his robes.  Delbin's general air is one of battle-weary traveler, and precocious child -- all in one elven package.

Background: Delbin Arcanus came from the world of Oerth, in the year 1319 Avard.  Deblin was originally from the Vesve Forest of Oerth, and tries to forget as much about his youth as possible.  Later in life, he met up with Finnel Ravenwing, an elven rogue that helped set him on the path to the city of Dyvers -- where he met the men that would one day become the Chosen of Arpelos, and Duke Henrik Kamus of Rakore.  Together, the four of them (and several other companions) would travel across Oerth, back in time, to the interplanar city of Sigil, and even to a strange world known as 'Earth'.  Somewhere along the way, an enemy of Arpelos's forced the Reunited to flee to Gaeleth -- taking Delbin Arcanus and some of his allies with him.

Because of Gaeleth's odd Shield, and the temporal distortions associated with it, Arpelos, Duke Henrik, and the Chosen of Arpelos all arrived on Gaeleth during the time of the Storm Wars, in 766 Avard.  Delbin arrived on Gaeleth, late in 1319 Avard, and seemed utterly lost as to why he could no longer plane shift.

One of Delbin's old enemies was an arch lich by the name of Kilreptus.  The arch lich transported to Gaeleth as soon as the Shield went down, in 1320, and began systematically hunting down all of the members of the party that had beaten him in the past.  Kilreptus used Duke Henrik as bait, and forced the Chosen of Arpelos to chase down Delbin and Jynx (another ally that arrived in 1317 Avard), before meeting the arch lich on a mountain that would take on the Kilreptus' name, deep inside the Ogre Nations.  Kilreptus's attack nearly succeeded, but he had not counted on the Chosen of Arpelos's power over the undead.  Victory was swift, and the party was reunited.

Working with Jynx, Delbin and Duke Henrik began to carve out a niche for themselves in Rakore.  Delbin, as one of the preeminent mages of Gaeleth because of the Inquisition, was thrust into the role of 'chief mage' for Rakore, until Mistress Brin of Vridara took the reigns of the Lok Magius project.  Since that time, Delbin has willingly stayed on as an instructor in extraplanar studies, occasionally jaunting through the multiverse, helping his old friends from Oerth, or just pouring over the myriad texts that the Mages' Academy of Lok Magius has managed to accumulate.

Role-playing notes: Delbin is borderline insane.  He has a tendency to palm valuable objects, and imitate swallowing them -- just because he can.  He uses some of his spell effects to enhance the abilities of certain alchemical drugs.  He acts like a three year-old human.  Despite all this, he basically has a good heart, and stays loyal to his friends.  He used to be driven solely by the need for power and intelligence enhancers -- even at the expense of his friends.  The ordeal with Kilreptus, and the journey to Gaeleth, have forced him to mature... somewhat.  Delbin is a driven, unpredictable, and childish elf, while still retaining a zest and love of life that many envy.
