Park Place Medical Center

Port Arthur's Park Place Medical Center was demolished in the Fall of 2006, due to flooding and asbestos issues. The contract was given to Cherry Demolitions out of Houston, and to a few other companies. While I was working security for the Lofton firm around the site, a number of people would drop by to tell me their stories about the hospital -- how their son was born there, their mother died there, or how the emergency room staff saved their life. More trauma happens in hospitals than anywhere else, I think.
