The second most common of the tomanths are the ocean-born; they are,
essentially, a sub-race of the river-tomanths that has learned to adapt to salt
water. They appear
somewhat akin to bipedal alligators, with longer and heavier limbs, shorter
snouts, and independently swiveling eye turrets (and nictating membranes that
protect their eyes). Their teeth are more akin
to sharks', with multiple rows of rapidly-replacing teeth -- many of which can
break off in a wound and paralyze or kill it. Their coloration ranges from
dark blue to dark yellow and even gray. They average four feet in height, and are usually
six-and-a-half to seven feet long. They tend to have stubby fingers with
long claws. Of all the tomanths, ocean tomanths are the largest and the
heaviest.
Ocean tomanths tend to be found in the Gulf of Teras. Tomanths are an indigenous species on Gaeleth.

Skill Bonuses: Ocean tomanths gain a +8 racial bonus to Climb and Swim checks. They also gain a +4 bonus to Spot checks. Ocean tomanths gain a +4 racial bonus to Hide checks, when under water. Saving Bonus: Tomanths can hold their breaths for three rounds per point of Constitution, because of their lower metabolic rates and reptilian nature. Armor Class Bonus: Tomanths receive a +2 natural armor bonus.
Favored Class: Ranger. A multiclass ocean tomanth's ranger class does not count when determining whether an experience point penalty
applies.
