The Duergar of Gaeleth

The duergar (sometimes known as the derro) are a race of dwarves that went deep into the earth, long ago.  The duergar have little interaction with any other species, tending to be xenophobic, photophobic, and very aggressive against outsiders -- including other dwarves.  Their own environment tends to be rather violent, aggressive, and nasty.

They tend to have very pale to gray, ruddy skin.  Their hair tends to be thick, and grayish to white in color.  Their eyes tend to be very light in color, and range from light orange to light indigo.

The duergar of Gaeleth tend to be found in the Sandra Mountains of Hobrimeth, deep in the Jaeth Mountains of southern Galanath, and in every mountain range in northern Galanath.

Duergar Base Racial Features
All of the following are base racial abilities for the duergar of Gaeleth.
Ability Score Adjustments:  +2 Constitution, -4 Charisma.
Size:  Duergar are Medium size.
Speed:  Duergar base land speed is 20 feet.  However, a duergar can move at this speed even when wearing medium or heavy armor, or when carrying a medium or heavy load (unlike other creatures, whose speed is reduced in such situations).
Darkvision (Ex):  A duergar has darkvision to a 60-foot range.
Light Sensitivity (Ex):  Duergar are dazzled in bright sunlight, or within the radius of a daylight spell.
Stonecunning:  This ability grants a duergar a +2 racial bonus on Search checks to notice unusual stonework, such as sliding walls, stonework traps, new construction (even when built to match the old), unsafe stone surfaces, shaking stone ceilings, and the like.  Something that isn't stone, but that is disguised as stone, also counts as unusual stonework.  A duergar who merely comes within 10 feet of unusual stonework can make a Search check as if she were actively searching, and she can use the Search skill to find stonework traps as a rogue can.  A duergar can also intuit depth, sensing her approximate depth underground as naturally as a human can sense which way is up.
Saving Throw Bonuses:  A duergar gains a +2 racial bonus on saving throws against paralysis, phantasms, poison, spells, and spell-life effects.
Skill Bonuses:  A duergar gains a +2 racial bonus on Appraise checks that are related to stone or metal items, and on Craft checks that are related to stone or metal.
Stability:  A duergar gains a +4 bonus on ability checks made to resist being bull rushed or tripped, when standing on the ground (but not when climbing, flying, riding, or otherwise not standing firmly on the ground).

Favored Class:  Fighter.  A multiclass duergar's fighter class does not count when determining whether an experience point penalty applies.
