Overview
Karmen is considered one of the oldest cities in all of Gaeleth, and has been continuously occupied for over ten thousand years. The 'Holy City of Karmen' houses some of the largest and grandest cathedrals in the world, where most of the religions of the world have their headquarters. The city sits on an island at the mouth of the Sabron River; the island is triangularly-shaped and roughly twenty miles on a side, and shaped like an arrow towards the mainland. Karmen has supported a professional mercenary force for millennia, and this has kept it an independent merchant-theocracy. Karmen and its churches are the heart of the Inquisition, and most of the continents' nations have embassies in Karmen to maintain the policies of the Inquisition.

Churches headquartered in Karmen include: Arpelos, Barith, Curiss, Habrem, K'Tath, Lul, Mikindim, Rahne, Whalin, and Yatindar.

Bonuses
Because of the city's theocratic and militaristic history, residents of Karmen receive a +2 bonus to Knowledge (religion) and Knowledge (history) checks.

Regional feats for Karmen include Shield Focus and Weapon Focus, as well as any Item Creation or Metamagic feat used exclusively for and with divine spells.
