Campaign VII NPCs

Savana has been placed in charge of Guardian, one of the myriad shield golems available at Lok Magius. Like many golems, their literal minds can be very dangerous, and so Savana has taken programming steps necessary to protect herself and her allies -- especially after a near-disasterous encounter with the Marksmen and some ograns.

Shield Guardian: medium-sized construct (6ft, 850lbs); HD 6d12; hp 71; Init +0; Spd 20ft; AC 34 (+22 natural, +2 shield); Attack +14 melee (fist, 1d6+10, crit20x2) or +14 melee (shield bash, 1d6+10, crit20x2); SA Construct special traits, Darkvision 60ft, 360-degree vision; SV Fort +2, Ref +2, Will +1; AL TN; Str 30, Dex 10, Con NA, Int 2, Wis 8, Cha 2. Skills and Feats: Improved Shield Bash, Improved Unarmed Strike.
Construct Traits: Not subject to critical hits, nonlethal damage, ability damage, ability drain, fatigue, exhaustion, or energy drain. Cannot be raised or ressurected. Cannot heal damage on its own, but can be repaired by exposure to magical fire, or through the use of the Craft Construct feat. Does not eat, sleep, or breathe. Has Damage Reduction 15/Adamantine. Immune to all mind-affecting effects, such as charms, compulsions, phantasms, patterns, morale effects, and illusions. Immune to effects requiring a Fortitude save (unless it affects objects, or is harmless). Immune to poisons, sleep effects, paralysis, stunning effects, disease, death effects, and necromancy effects. Immune to most forms of magic (Ex). Not at risk from death due to massive damage -- but is destroyed when reduced to 0hp.

Guardian's verbal programming is as follows (hand gestures and general hand signals are covered separately):

'Party Members' are defined as the following: Barome Revelstoke, Droog Grimfire, Savannah Beth Lomaksan, Clear Eyes (wolf), and any mounts in their care. 'Civilian' is any humanoid creature, animal, or being that is not a party member, or who does not meet the requirements of an enemy. 'Enemy' is any humanoid creature, animal, being or entity that is perceived as openly hostile and/or attempting to do physical harm to the party members and/or is a member of the Ogre Nations. Name you will be known as, referred to as, is 'Guardian'. 'Excessive Noise 'is anything that makes more sound than speaking in a low voice. 'Hostage' is any civilian that is being forcibly held by an enemy. 'Ally' is any humanoid creature, animal, being or entity that is doing harm to defined enemies.

Guardians 'general orders' are:
1. Guardian may not injury a party member, either through direct action or through inaction.
2. Guardian must obey orders given to it by party members, except where such orders would conflict with the first order.
3. Guardian must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the first two orders.
4. Guardian will not create excessive noise unless it conflicts with the first three orders.
5. Do not attack a defined enemy unless they attack first or until party members attack the defined enemy.
6. If an enemy surrenders, do no harm to that enemy until that enemy commits another act of aggression.
7. You will not harm a civilian, unless it conflicts with the first three orders.
8. You will not harm an Ally unless it conflicts with the first three orders.
9. All future orders are temporary orders once the order is completed or other orders take precedence; erase temporary orders from memory after they are completed, unless they are stated as part of the new general order.
