Recap
The morning of the 20th of Davor, 1329, Fort Erion Haven, Southern Galanth

Our party was very sore and tired after the vicious fight with a pack of zombies. The Haven keeper had some medicinal herbs that Horus used to treat Jacob and Kai’s wounds. As the group prepared to set out again, they discovered the elven bard they met a few days earlier when hunting goblins, Saurial, had stowed away in the back of one of the wagons. Once again, the party numbered five as they set out on the second day of travel.

The day was bright and calm; the perfect day to be hunted by kobolds. Once again, the sore party had to gird their loins and fight off a small gang of kobolds and their pet dire weasel. Ranged attacks took out the weasel before it could close. With Saurial singing, the party quickly killed all the kobolds with little damage to themselves.

No other monsters attacked the rest of the day and they made it safely to the next Haven. Come morning, Horus tended wounds. Jacob was feeling fit, but Kia still was stiff and sore but steadily improving. The third day of travel was uneventful and Horus used his prayers to finish Kai’s healing.

The fourth day of travel, the caravan encountered a pair of bombardier beetles making their way across the road. Thinking the caravan in danger, our heroes took the offensive and handily destroyed the beetles.

Bad weather and no enemies plague the party for the next seven days. The weather turns very foul when the caravan train enters the hills where there are no Havens to shelter in. Once out of the hills and onto the plains that make up Kalla’s northern border, the weather improves.

On the twelfth day of travel, the party stop at a Haven on the inside of the Kalla border. They bed done like normal, but awake to an unpleasant surprise. Horus and Kai had been robbed during the night. The thief took 20 platinum pieces and Kai’s thunderstone and escaped into the night. So it was a grumpy party that started out on day thirteen of travel.

Things improved for the party as the day progressed. A small pack of knolls and a hyena attacked the caravan. The party repulsed them with much glee. All were happy to get some action in after such a long time with no enemies and to work off some frustration after the theft.

Day fourteen was uneventful. The mid-morning of the fifteenth day brought an attack by a group of orcs led by a larger one dressed in hide and a bearskin cloak. This group put up a good fight, with the barbarian once enraged taking a good hit at the monk. Quickly enough, once again the monsters were vanquished and the heroes bandaged up their wounds. All was quite the rest of the way to the port city of Duckoron on Kalla’s southwestern coast.

So ended an undetermined day.

XP AWARDED:
150 for the kobolds, 150 for the dire weasel, 240 for the bombardier beetles, 150 for the knolls, 150 for the hyena, 225 for the orcs, 225 for the 3rd level orc barbarian.

TREASURE:
Kobolds yielded 50 gp, gnolls yielded 240 gp, and orcs yielded 190 gp, an iolite, 3 antitoxins and a map to a set of ruins.

DM NOTES:
I was totally better prepared this go around. I had set down and figured out which days had a random encounter, and then set up the monsters and treasure for each encounter. The thief took the longest to get together, and they did not even fight him. I worked especially hard to pick out some goodies to put in his bag for the halfling rogue that likes shiny things. Is that the gnashing of teeth from my rogue I hear? I know he will be reading this. The party may get a shot at my little thief later on once again. My main four are now at level 3 and Lott finally was able to show up and his bard is at level 2. SGT Adams and SSG Rogers are going to add in a second character each. If they can handle a second character, I guess I can handle terrorizing 7 PCs instead of 5. Adams is bringing in a half-orc barbarian named Thurg, and we all can’t wait for his halfling’s smart-alecky remark to come. Rogers is bringing in a mage and is aware of the role-playing challenge of a mage in this world. Let’s see how he does, but I better get a couple of Seekers and a mob ready just in case. Now to plan further mayhem for the party in a large port town where anything can happen. (evil grin)
